How To Style Your FREEDOM54 Graphic T-Shirt Pt. 3 Le Finale

A bit of spunk, a dash of edge, leather, platforms and noir all create bits of the grunge scene. The origination of the style "grunge" stems back to the late 1970s-1980s, becoming popular in the early 90s. The term grunge was used to describe multiple alternative rock bands. Bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Mudhoney and Screaming Trees (TheRevolutionComeandGone). Seattle, Washington was known for its large grunge scene. I have taken a liking to the style grunge ever since I was a child. Growing up in my apartment complex in Parlin, NJ. It was like a mini world that had a fusion of cultures. Individuals from every walks of life. My environment allowed me to keep an open mind and today it shows in my style of dressing. I can remember standing on my porch peaking through the banister watching the teens dressed in baggy pants and chains that were attached to them. Blonde, jet Black, Pink and blue hair cut in bowl shapes to make them stand out even more. seeming to delve into the Punk Rock culture. Yes the two are different scenes with similarities.

Grunge scene defined the loud, heavy music and the bands. Punk rock defined the softer side of rock, based off of moods and emotional characteristics. I embrace both scenes even though I don't listen to much rock. I enjoy creating looks that are comfortably edgy. Distressed denim, oversize t-shirts, biker jackets, boots, spikes , chains. I enjoy styling my favorite color of all time the exaggerated amounts of black, with highlights of specific colors defining the mood of that individual. Even though I believe in balance when getting dressed, I still love to hide my curves underneath an oversize button down, jacket, sweater, or trousers. There's character in garments that are purposefully large.

THE SWITCH UP - LAYERED

We transitioned into a body conscious midi length skirt. One can create a balance between fitted and oversize. I chose a midi length skirt being that I don't wear mini skirts. However a body conscious skirt is essential to any females wardrobe. It can be paired with a stilettos, sneakers, sandals mules  etc. you name it. In addition to this look I decided to layer up a bit. The first way I layered was by adding an elongated distressed denim outerwear. I have form fitting bottoms and t-shirt on. This is where the balance is shown. I could have put on a moto jacket that would be fitted as well. Yet for a bit of an edge and a "switch up" I went with the denim jacket instead. The perks of putting looks together is that there are no rules. Have fun with it. Remember balance is key to being comfortable in any look.

The second way to layer this look was by adding a short sleeve button down.  There is something about layering garments with a button down that just reflects chicness. Street style edge, that "soft glam rock." Many of my favorite designers has played with button downs and tailored blouses making them look extremely sexy in a masculine chic way. As Leadra Medina, known as Man Repeller would have it, this look is definitely tepelling. Men want to see curves, that feninity. Don't layer up too much others exclaim. As for me I love to layer in pieces that give off a certain vie. Adding that extra layer just might send the guy packing and headed towards a different direction. In which man repller doesn;t define wer are dressing not for the man. t is more so embracing unconventional styles and daring to add an extra layer, Such as a dress with jeans. Or a bandeau top over a tshirt. It's about being playful and enjoying the life of all of your searied pieces in one given look. Styled many ways, serviingvarious moods.

PINNED STRIPES - PLATFORMS

On this platform I hope to perform to the best of my ability. Giving it my all to provide and deliver useful content. Through this bumpy year of 2016 I felt lost and stagnant. I've found my way through Christ. In 2017 I am seeking to take the stage in which I stand on and showcase my talents that can aid a neighboring brother or sister.

This final look is my ultimate favorite. It is Desiree Dossen on the regular. I serve up moods with style, signaturedwith an African twist. My love for all things edgy is shown in this final look. I purchased the trousers I am wearing at the local Goodwill. Yes, I got these babies in the Men's section. I have found my home in the Men's section. I will continue to shop there until my style evolves else where. It was a pleasure creating this series for you all. I hope it wasn't overwhelming. I am trying to hone in a certain way I create my posts. In efforts to remain consistent as well as relevant.
