The Roaring Twenties Birthday Behavior

Good evening to all of my loyal readers. As promised I said I would do a blog post on my birthday festivities. You can view my images on the home page, however here I will explain how my 21st birthday went. Firstly, I've been planning my 21st birthday for the longest. I've always wanted to get out of the country for my 21st and not do the average activities everyone does. Get Drunk! No, I wanted to remember my birthday and make sure I enjoyed every moment of it.
Honestly because money was tight I didn't enjoy it the way I wanted to but I made it work and I had a blast. A few months ago I met up with two lovely ladies from the DMV area, who currently live in NYC to talk about designing my birthday look. I have been following each of their journey for years and it was only right for Shade Renee, a recent graduate from Parsons along with Jahise, a student at NYU to make my vision come to life.
I told myself I was going to finally purchase my birthday outfit from The Saint Heron Shop instead of getting a custom made piece like I do every year. Normally my good friend and sister Ariel Clarke a designer from Queens, New York would make my birthday piece. However I wanted to connect with new individuals and share their expertise with the world. We met up May 21st and been in contact ever since. There were some fixable bumps along the road however in the end the magik was created and I served my true definition and purpose as a style blogger.

My birthday landed on a Monday this year therefore that meant turn up on the weekend. My original plan was to attend a strictly raggae and soca fete, yet that plan didn't go through. Next idea was a Day Party at Hudson Terrace in NYC which I though wouldbe nice to bring all of my girls together and turn up. I had my concepts made months in advance for my birthday theme. I wanted to do endless photo shootsto bring my idea to life. Yet, again none of that occurred. You don't always get what you want in life and it's about putting what's important first. Long story short, I had a blast at the Day Party even though it took us 3 hrs to get to New York when it's only supposed to be a 1 hour drive. Overall my weekend was successful and filled with random surprises. I got amazing gift from my loved ones and cannot wait to out them to use.
My actual birthday July 11th was filled with relaxation. Family, love, and laughter. I went to dinner with my family and had my first alcoholic drink around my father. The evening was lovely and here I am still discussing my birthday because July is not over yet.
