Early morning jams on VH1 as I would get ready for school, would be the latest Good Charlotte, Avril Levigne, or Evan Essence hits blasting through my room I shared with mysisters. Punk Rock songs that captivated my soul and today has shaped me. I can remeber in elementary school riding the school bus and hearing Z100 take over the East Coast air waves with their alternative tracks. Nostalgia fills the air as I return to those days and the songs that influenced my mood, hair, attitude, and style of dress. I used to be obsessed with Avril Levigne, Pink, Gwen Stefani, and Fergie they were super cool to me. Each one had a unique sense of style but their authenticity is what captivated me.

Before I started dating and came to terms with my preference I was attracted to the boys on skate boards, who road dirt bikes, and bmxed or rollerbladed, and broke rules. Yeah shy, insecure Desiree was into the risk takers that had that sexy edge. As I got older I thought well they will never be into me plus most of them were non- POC. The black boys that did skate were only into Kelly Anne or Mary Lee, laugh out loud. They wouldn't pay me no mind as I stopped paying attention to them.

Fastforward to 2017, I thrifted a pair of stone grey, Dickies shorts that has changed my mood forever. I said to myself my summer wardrobe consists of Khaki pants, basketball shorts, and sport bras, and more longline shorts topped with a risque top or tight up crop top. Being that my mood is Ice Blue which will end soon. I am coming to the final looks of this series. Enjoy my juxtaposition of a look. This my balance and idea of merging two varying styles to become one.
