California Love - McLaren Mod Mood

Two lovers On The Run in the city of Los Angeles meets Aston Martin Music. A summer well spent for summertime lovers. Celebrating life, love, and accomplishments was our Summer 2020. My first time in California felt like a dream, Neferdede was on the scene looking supreme and diveen…oops I meant divine, one-of-a-kind. Looking like a true Liberian dime.

This mesh two-piece outfit from Fashion Nova was me taking a risque and stepping outside of my box. As a curvy woman, I love pieces that accentuate my silhouette but also looks that keeps me covered up at the same time. This see-through coordinate almost made me JUMPSCAREDT.

However, the reaction I was met with before entering the elevator of my hotel on this day, by a group of beautiful black women was the opposite of what my mind was telling me. The girls took a step back to admire the view and gave out loud compliments, we talked before I got on the elevator, with one of them disappointed that she didn’t get this outfit as it was already in her shopping cart. I was shocked myself that they loved how this looked on me so much. It was a pleasant conversation full of laughs and vibes. I proceeded down to the front of the hotel where I met Kofi with the Motivation, one lens, and one view.

One thing I can say is, growing up I’ve always been hard on myself and struggled to view myself as others saw me. But as I mature, I appreciate the compliments and humbly welcome them in. However, one’s view of self is far more important than what others think. It doesn’t matter how many compliments I receive, if I don’t feel like the nicely decorated adjectives they describe me as then I simply won’t believe it’s true. Fashion is therapy and getting dressed to feel good and look good improves one’s self-confidence.

I’m never going to stop dressing up and getting fly as can be in my own suit naturally. I want this for many women to experience. Mrs. Put On whatever makes you smile, dance, and makes your soul feel good. Forget what the haters say, if you want to show an extra bit of skin, a little bit of cleavage, do so and move with grace. Let the haters hate, because you will always look great while they negate.
