Disclaimer: Frank Ocean is by far the only artist I truly support. When I was young and immature it used to be all about Chris Brown, I'm talking "Poppin & Yo" Chris Brown. However being that my taste in music is all over the place I've taken a liking to one artist that captures his emotions in a pure, raw, art form. Mr. Frank Ocean that is. For the record I didn't download his album for free. I purchased it to support his brand unlike other individuals that call themselves fans. (Hahaha...."No tea, No shade") 

To date, 4 years ago I was enjoying a summer full of tumblr reblogs and teenage emotions. Sitting in an Orange Room (yes my bedroom was literally painted orange)  in isolation, scrolling through fashion sites and blogs. Every Summer I have a new color I fall in love with. This Summer I'm Ruby Red. Summer of 2012 I was tangerine when my celeb crush released Channel Orange. He released the greatest album of all time a day before my 17th birthday. July 10, 2012 that was. The album that I replayed over and over before my European tour as a People to People Student Ambassador. It was my dear Frank Ocean's album that had me channeling inner emotions and keeping me sane. While I scrounged for coins to finalize my trip expenses. Frank Ocean has a way with his fans and I'm pretty sure by now he understands how loyal we are. Patience is key, bae took 4 years to come back to us with new, feel good music we can vibe to. 

Moving to present day, Frank Ocean has bestowed another gem on us. Another album to go into my archives of timeless music. We are no longer Channeling Orange but we are channeling Blonde? Hmmmm.... The Title of his work brings about many questions. 

Blonde- A time period of defining self and just being.

• Blondies-The pastry
• Stupidity (the stereotype blondes are dumb)
• Growth as an individual
• Experiencing new flavors (in terms of romance)
• Millennials are stupid -Says the older generation
• Blonds are superficial- they have a hard time being themselves (stereotype

• West Coast lifestyle all of the women are blonde barbies
• Temporary Happenings
• Priveledge

The fact that his masterpiece makes us think means that his job is done. He has delivered a piece of himself that can mean anything only the artist, visonary, and curator behind this know the true meaning. 

Ivy -First verse "I thought I was dreaming when you said you loved me." A statement filled with butterflies and hope. A toxic relationship. A horrible break up.

Solo - "It's hell on earth and the city is on fire, in hell in hell there is heaven. There's a bull and a matador dueling in the sky, in hell in hell there's heaven."                

My definition - Control. Oppression. A Matador is a bull fighter whose task is to kill the bull.  The matador is Frank Ocean's label. The bull is Frank Ocean being that he holds a significant amount of power. The label is trying to control is every move and put him into a box. Frank being the bull and fighter he is is up for a challenge and will not allow them to kill his destiny. However the roles could be reversed. 

Hell is low and Heaven is high. Many worship a higher power may it be God or The Opposite of him. The battle of the Gods. Lucifer was kicked out of heaven being that he wanted to hold the highest seat in the sky. God kicked him out of heaven and the Lucifer rules Hell. Whom do you worship or give all of your praise. In the industry individuals are confused. Giving their all to their label. Getting nothing in return. 

Obstacles in life bring on depression and put one in a low mental state. However growth comes from being alone. Not needing someone around all of the time is evolution. Many turn to drugs or alcohol to heal. In search of that ultimate high to only find themselves "so low and solo"  

Advice from your mother is always needed. "Be Yourself and No one else. Trust your own decision. When individuals smoke weed they becom sluggish, lazy, stupid, and unconscerned."

 Favorite part of the album was this voice message. I connected with this because my mother always says charity begins at home. If you go out and show your ass, the individuals looking at you will ask who raised you. Remember the things your parents have taught you! This is the key to your life!
