Back 2 School Mood : Plaid Prints & Varsity Jackets

September 5, 2016

By: Desiree Dossen

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Back 2 School? I just thought of Pumpkin Spice. Oh yeah it's that time of the season again Auntumn. Hello there stylistas and beaux hommes. It's been a while since I've updated my site with a decent post. Well your girl StylistaInMind is back like an A-track. Summer has sent us it's final wave good-bye. As I rewind my summer film, I think back on the amount of growth that has occurred this summer. Traveling to Barbados, resigning from my job, and registering for school this semester has set the tone for the Fall/Autumn Season.  We are all back in grind mode. Farewell to our summer woes as we embrace the Autumn Cold. Today I shed a couple tears and stated thou shalt have no fear but be aware of the path that God has prepared.

To catch up I took a long break from blogging due to lack of motivation. I really want this relationship to work. Therefore I am going to try my best to update the site as often as I can and stay connected with my social media fam. It feels good to be blogging again and taking photos of forever evolving style. I'm not going to make any promises, however there will most likely be a clear schedule of how my content will be published. As I am on this journey of life I will make mistakes a long the way. As new and old readers read StylistaInMind's post I hope you all will have a wonderful day and perhaps stay. Don't be afraid to send your greetings, request, advice or comments. I send my blessings and love as God instills wisdom and knowledge into the students who return back to school this semester. Those who choose to work, travel, wanderlust, experiment, or take a break may God be a light unto your path. Thank You for all of your kind love and support.

To date after my 3 week getaway to Barbados, my sisters and I surprised our mother with a birthday and wedding anniversary celebration. It was by far one of the most exciting events ever. Especially for a person that gives so much and cares about others before herself. We had to honor our empress in a way that she would forever remember it. A week later our biological grandmother came from Liberia, West Africa. Here we have "play" grandparents or elders we call grandma and grandpa. It feels surreal to actually have our grandmother, our mother's mother here with us in the United States. That has been our mother's dream and mine as well, to finally meet our grandmother was mind blowing. Everything happened extremely quick. Down below I am wearing the jacket my grandmother wore into the United States.
