A Cultural Mesh

Mixing and matching various elements that may or may not have a cultural influence is how I would describe my style. Taking bits and pieces from life experiences and interests and incorporating it into my daily dress is StylistaInMind. Below I borrowed my mothers African Blouse that has a matching bottom and turned it into something StylistaInMind would wear. Boyfriend jeans are the simplest way to turn a "basic" outfit into something chic and edgy at the same time. If there is no bit of edge to it than it is not a StylistaInMind look. I mix pieces up not to throw others off but to show versatility through garments. Many would say oh that's "meshy" (messy). But hence the title A Cultural Mesh, it's done purposefully. Not everything needs to match. Build a story with your look. Make it your own.

Back to the outfit, I did without the kente trousers grabbed my DIY distressed denim that I thrifted and paired them with my favorite Zara Heels that were officially destroyed after this day. Walking through the streets of NYC not the best choice.

One of my favorite looks to date. Showing you guys that not because it came with matching pants you have to wear them together. Try something different. Grab a Skinny jean or a palazzo trouser, even a culotte would do this look justice. A Cultural Mesh ! May 29, 2016 I attended A Current Affair which was a Vintage Pop Up Expo that occurs every year in various locations. Below I met a blogger duo well 1/2 of the blogger duo Idiosyncratic Fashionistas. Her headwrap attracted me to her. Yet again the way she styled her outfit was definitely A Cultural Mesh. Harem trousers, funky shoes, fitted jacket and it was toute noir. With Just a hit of color accented in the right spots.

Friends or Foes even, style is always the topic of conversation. It's honestly the fist thing you see wen you first meet someone. It may tell you a lot about them or may not. Yet there are always stories to be told and memories to be shared when fashion is always there. My passion lies within the fashion industry to represent and to bring diversity. With the right connections and dedication the job will get done.

This day I was able to plan and meet up with two lovely ladies. I call it the Black Excellence meeting. We discussed my birthday designs and also discussed current events. As we shopped through fabric stores you can witness the slayage and diversity in styles in a clip I put together now on my YouTube Channel. Life is very interesting. God brings certain people in your life randomly and it feels like you've known them forever.

Down below you all can meet my outrageous friends Christian. He is the biggest diva I know. A party animal and a dreamer like us all. He brings the vibe every and anywhere we go it's a party. I love a kodak moment, but Christian is always photo ready.

"If you don't jump how else will you soar."

A quote that I always remember the motivational Steve Harvey stated on his show. Every time I come to the city I feel as though I am taking steps unattainable in the suburbs. Steps that will help in my growth process.

I am awaiting the day to call the concrete jungle home.
