Gar-Meants

The meaning of vetements (translated, clothes in English).

Gar-meants- more than just articles of clothing, items used to build confidence more than image, products of fabric that is able to keep the human body warm, what we use to showcase style and personality.

Do not judge me based off of the gar-meants I wear.
I wear these to tell you I am more than these threads wrapped on my skin.
She who wears a skirt above the knee, a blouse that shows off the belly is not less than we.
She is comfortable in her skin to let you know she has more to offer you from within.
She who weighs that over 200 lbs should not be limited to the style she effortlessly possesses as she struts in that street-chic gown.
I wear this, I wear that... labels don't mean anything if you are not okay on the inside. That's a proven fact.
In fact, if little Tommy shows up wearing a dress, and little Sarah shows up in a two-piece suit with a vest. Don't be the first to judge and test their individuality.
It's all a reality.
Don't mock the religious garments or choices for head coverings, dresses that stop to the ankles, long sleeves all year round.
If s/he decides to wear their religious gar-meants that can be styled in various ways. Why is that you have to be the one to holler and make sound?
The meaning behind the garments each person wears. Is more than the many highlights one puts in their hair.
Boot-cut, High-rise, Low-rise, Flare are the many denims a StylistaInMind never wears.
I am learning the true meaning and essence of each article I put on daily.
As well as to show my respect to those who are non-conformant, making changes greatly.
Find your voice through your "gar-meants."
Be You!
Be Inspirational.
Don't allow these clothes-minded fools tell you what to do when it comes to dressing for you boo.
What is meant to be will be, choose your "gar-meants" wisely.

For me, delving into fashion or playing with "gar-meants" was a way for me to cover up insecurities that hindered me. However I've grown so much to appreciate this industry and the hard work that goes into it. Fashion brings meaning to my life through new season, and recurring "gar-meants." I have fun learning and implementing. Therefore when I get dressed I not only have to make sure I am comfortable in an outfit, but confident as well. Through my clothes I have to utter and exude confidence without saying a word verbally. It's funny because I found my love for fashion in my seventh grade year of middle school. However the fashion sensibility was not present at that time. It was not until my sophomore year of high school, when I started playing with my clothes and trying out different than the ordinary looks. Clothes to me aren't just a material. It's always been about telling that story no one may get or understand right away. It has always been thinking ahead, thinking forward. Most importantly it's been and still is about non-conforming.

Now I have taken on the position of a visual merchandiser. I feel as though, I can tell stories differently through children's clothing. Speaking to the mind of parents when they gasp with excitement, after seeing my face-outs of new articles. To the outsiders as they pay close attention to the various looks I put together allowing my creativity to speak for itself.

I wanted to utilize my blog as a way to share my story though my different looks and styles I put together. Yet, time has not allowed me to do so this month. It's been a while and I am ready to jump back into it. Yes, it's chilly outside and will only get colder from here on out. We stylistas must not be afraid of a little autumn's brisk and a little winter frost. Tis the season to layer.

Stylistas organize those garment racks and bring out the dopest outerwear and warmest knits. Say goodbye to those sandals. Surprisingly we are at the end of October and people still have the audacity to exit their houses with sandals, and flip flops as if their widdle piggies aren't freezing to death. I mean I maybe exaggerating the coldness over here in New Jersey. But, it's time to retire those chancletas.

My wishlists for the Fall/Winter grows everyday. I'm obsessed with many cold month items right now. It is meant for me to have those "gar-meants."

Remember what is meant to be will be. Do not force a look to fit in, do not be carbon copies. It is extremely necessary for one to build their own style to create that meaning behind each gar-meant. Work with what you have, don't spend your last unless you want to when you don't have sufficient funds. Work within your means. Something I am a testament to. I enjoy working with what I've got because it shows me I can really turn nothing into something.
